Darts Rules

A dartboard is a great way to add fun to a room without using a lot of space. It’s even something you can do by yourself by just throwing and working on your own aim. We have some of the basics of setup and the two most popular ways to play darts below.

Hanging Your Dartboard:
In order to play darts you need to properly install your board. The center of the bullseye should be 5 feet 8 inches off the ground. You also need enough room to throw the darts. The toe line should be 7 feet and 9.25 inches away from the front of the board. You will want to make sure there is room around and behind the toe line so you can comfortably throw.

Game Play
There are many different games to play but we are going to outline the two most popular games:

501 - When playing at 501 you and your opponent each start with 501 and have to get to zero. This game can be played one-on-one or two-on-two. The only catch is the last play you have to get a double. For example if you need 30 points you must hit double 15. If you need 41 points - double 20 plus a single 1. If you fail to get a double or you go over the amount of points you need you go back to your score before your turn and then other player gets to go again.

Cricket - To play cricket you must hit the 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and the Bull’s Eye in any order before your opponent. You get 3 throws per turn. If you are playing with a double Bull’s Eye board (like what is pictured above) you must also have the highest score and hit the above numbers first. If you get the outer Bull’s Eye it’s 25 points and the inner is 50 points.

Have fun and enjoy your new dartboard!
